Sensefield 2023

Hold on for Dear Life: Relationships in Uncertain Times is the 2023 edition of Sensefield 感野, a biennial exhibition exploring experimental ethnographic art. In a world shaken by pandemics, climate crisis, and geopolitical unrest, this show asks what we hold onto—and who holds us. Featuring works that span digital rituals, edible viruses, and blockchain ecologies, it invites you to imagine new forms of connection, care, and community.

Workshop

Aesthetic Programming

In collaboration with a Taiwanese working group, we are translating Aesthetic Programming—a critical, open-source handbook by Winnie Soon and Geoff Cox—into Chinese. More than a translation, this is an exploration of how coding, language, and culture intersect, using the practices of forking and collective authorship to challenge normative systems of knowledge, both in programming and in translation itself.

Exhibition

Sensefield 2019

Sensefield 感野: Sovereign Worlds is an interdisciplinary exhibition exploring how sovereignty is sensed, embodied, and reimagined beyond the boundaries of nation and self. Featuring experimental ethnographic works by international artists and anthropologists, the exhibition redefines sovereignty as a collective, affective process shaped through sensory experience.
